Google pixel 4a

we have the Google Pixel 4a 5G. So we'll unbox both of these and we'll also have a bit of a look at all of the key differences. Let's get to it. So mine actually came in thisbox called Help Has Arrived, but I actually took the Pixel 5 out 'cause I wanted to show it on the intro so you know, I'll have moreretention in the video, 'cause otherwise you might justclick on the video and think "He's not actually got the devices." But anyway, the Google Hyperspeed Helper. So we have the Google Pixel buds, which I just kind ofunboxed there straight away, we also have a Google Pixel 5 case and then we had the GooglePixel 5 5G, and we have the 4a. Right, we're going to try todo these at the same time. That was pretty good, in sync.

Did you see? Yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself. The Pixel 5 does have a veryinteresting texture on it, which looks really cool. The Google Pixel 4a 5G looks verymuch like the Pixel 4a without 5g. That's going to be so confusing. All right, let's take these out. Quick peek inside the boxesto see what else we get as well as the devices. So exactly the same stuff,we've got some paper work, SIM card tool, an 18-watt charger, we've not got crazy fast charging speeds, just an 18-watt charger. USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable, as well as a USB Type-Ato USB Type-C converter, which you can kind ofuse with your old device to transfer everything over. Now one thing to quicklymention is that the Pixel 5 does have wireless charging, the Google Pixel 4a 5G does not. Plastic removal time. And the same for the Pixel 5. Now taking a quick look at both in hand, the Pixel 5 more premium. 100% recycled aluminumenclosure is what Google said, and that got a lot ofpeople confused thinking, how can you have 100% aluminium and still have wireless charging? Well it seems like thehundred percent referred to the recycled parts, not the full build. So it kind of seems like we'vegot an aluminum enclosure with maybe a space for thecoils for wireless charging, and then there's this kind of outer shell, which has this really interesting feel. This is the the Sort of Sage, Google like to have some funky names. There's also a just black versionavailable for the Pixel 5, the pixel 4a 5g justcomes in this just black, and it has a polycarbonate unibody. Polycarbonate is a fancy name for plastic.

Nevertheless, it does still feel good, you do get IPX8 waterresistance on the Pixel 5. The Google Pixel 4a 5G does nothave any water resistance. Now let's take a look atthe front of the devices. I'm going to just go into the settings so you can actually seethe displays properly. And the first thing you'llnotice is that the Google Pixel 4a 5G does have a largerdisplay, it's 6.2 inches, versus the six-inchdisplay of the Pixel 5. And although both are OLED displays, there are actually quite afew significant differences between the two. You will see that the Pixel 5 does have overall smaller bezelscompared to the Pixel 4a 5G but in terms of my first impressions, I can also notice that the Google Pixel 5 does have a brighter displaycompared to the Pixel 4a 5G. I'm not sure of the exact nits, and the Pixel 5 also hasa higher contrast ratio, we've got 1 million toone, versus 100,000 to one, but most importantly, the Pixel 5 does have a 90 hertz refresh rate versusthe 60 hertz refresh rate on the pixel 4a 5g. So overall, you aregetting the better display on the Pixel 5 versus the Google Pixel 4a 5G. Although the 4a 5G does nothave a bad display by any means, I'm sure most people willbe absolutely fine with it. Now displays aside, there's a lot that's actually exactly thesame between both of these starting with the cameras.

We have the same cameras on both devices so you're not going to be missing out on any camera features ifyou go for one or the other. There's an 8 megapixelfront facing selfie camera and if we look over onto the back, we do have the same rear-facing cameras. So we've got two cameras on each, primary Camera 12 megapixels with optical image stabilizationand dual pixel autofocus, but then we have somethingwhich we have been asking for for a long time, a 16megapixel ultra wide camera which has around a 107degree angle of view. Now you guys, I'm sureremember quite clearly, last year for the Pixel 4 event, Google said that ultrawide cameras are fun, but they feel that telephotocameras are more useful. And I mean, everybody was like, "Really? "Who told you that? "Like, seriously?" I mean, personally I alwayssaid why can't you have both? But if I was to pick one or the other, I would always pick the ultra wide camera because you can stillget good telephoto shots using software. There is absolutely no wayyou can get an ultra wide shot using software on a single camera. So I'm glad Google has actuallytaken the feedback on board, and honestly speaking, I amsuper super excited to see how this ultra wide camera will perform compared to some of the other competition. Pixel processing is among the best if not the best out there, especially when it comes to dynamic range. So this on the ultra wide camera is going to be very interestingto see, and of course, we are going to have a SuperSafStyle camera comparison of the Google Pixel 5. It's going to come soon. I am currently under embargo restrictions, so I'm not going to be ableto post it straight away, but as soon as I can,it's going to be online. So let me know in the comments below which smartphone you'd likeme to compare the cameras of the Pixel 5 against.

It's going to be very very interesting. Now remember, when itcomes to Pixel devices, it's very much about thesoftware, not just the hardware. So we do have some new softwarefeatures on the cameras, we've got improved HDR+, so this should give usbetter dynamic range, live HDR+ as well, so youshould be able to preview how your images are going to look. We've got some portrait lighting effects and improved night shift aswell for low light photography, as well as improvements for video. I'm looking forward to checkingall of these things out. We still have 1080p from thefront facing cameras however, no 4K, a little disappointedabout that still. So although Google is kind of listening to some of our feedback, it doesn't look like they'relistening to all of it. Anyway, inside the hood we alsohave a lot of similarities. So both devices are powered bythe Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G chipset, which doesenable 5G on both devices. The 765 G is a very capable chipset, and I think it should be absolutely fine for pretty much most people out there. However, of course, it is notas powerful and as efficient as the 865 or the 865+. Now both devices do comewith 128 gigabytes of storage and we do get some moreRAM on the Pixel 5, eight gigabytes of RAMversus six gigabytes of RAM on the Google Pixel 4a 5G. So that will give you bettermultitasking on the Pixel 5, but generally speaking, Ithink you should be fine with either of these. The batteries as well, the Pixel 5 actually comes with a bigger battery, even though the Pixel4a is a large device. You do have a 4080mAhbattery on the Pixel 5. On the Google Pixel 4a 5g youhave a 3885mAh battery. Let me check, yeah, that's right, 3885. Now in terms of usage andperformance, obviously, we're going to have to wait and see and I'm going to have to use these for an extended period of time. But you have to bear inmind that you do have that higher refresh rate on the Pixel 5 as well as a brighter display so this might have animpact on battery life. Now for charging, as wementioned earlier on, we do get 18-watt charging outof the box of both of these, but the Pixel 5 does comewith wireless charging. So this is an advantage, something that I find very, very useful. It's something thatyou're not going to get on the Google Pixel 4a 5G. Also as a bonus, the Pixel 5 does support reverse wireless charging, so you'll be able tocharge say, for example, your Pixel buds. Do the pixel buds supportwireless charging? I think they do. But if not, then you know, you can charge your Air Pods or your Galaxy buds Plus, whatever it is, reversewireless charging is here on the Pixel 5. Now both devices also have Pixel Imprint, which is the rear fingerprint scanner, and it works absolutely fine. I personally don't mind arear-facing fingerprint scanner. Now one reason why youwill probably be going with a Pixel device is for the software. These are some of the first,I believe if not the first, I think it's going to bebetween these and the 8T, some of the first if notthe first devices to come with Android 11 out of the box. So software updates will be coming first to your pixel device as we know, and it's also going to meanthat you're going to get a very clean Androidexperience as Google intended. Now we've got stereospeakers on both devices, there is one on the earpieceand one bottom firing. One advantage that you do geton the Google Pixel 4a 5G is that you do get a 3.5millimeter headphone jack, this is something that you don't get on the more expensive Pixel 5.

Now let's talk about the price 'cause this is really whereI think Google have nailed it because these are coming in atsome very competitive prices. The Google Pixel 5 iscoming in at around £600 here in the UK, or around $700 in the US, and that puts it directly in competition with the likes of someof the OnePlus devices, as well as the recentlyreleased Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. So this space betweenlike the £600 $700 mark is becoming very, very interesting. The Google Pixel 4a 5g, I mean, it offers a lot of what the Pixel 5 does and this is actually comingin at around £500 pounds, or around $500 in the US, which makes it even cheaper in the US. So this might be themore compelling option for a lot of people. I mean, you are getting the same cameras, you're getting the same chipsets, but you are missing outon some of the features that you're getting on the Pixel 5, namely, the more premium build and design, the better display withthat higher refresh rates, the more RAM, the biggerbattery, the wireless charging, the reverse wireless charging, as well as the IP rating forwater and dust resistance. And there we have it guys, the Google Pixel 5 as wellas the Google Pixel 4a 5G are very interesting devices. I'm really looking forwardto testing these out, especially the cameras.
